Are your lampshades made locally?
All of our lampshades are designed and created by us in Wellington, New Zealand.
What light bulbs should I use with the lamps and lampshades?
With the designer wallpaper lamps use only energy saver bulbs.
With our NZ foliage and native bird range of lampshades use either a 60-watt incandescent bulb or you can use energy saver bulbs of any wattage.
What are the lamp bases made of and are they safe?
The lamp base is a short-brushed aluminium base; it is 14 cm across 3 cm deep. It has a standard NZ plug with an inline switch on the cord, 230/240 volts.
All lamp bases are fully certified to AS/NZS standards.
Can the table lamps be used in other countries?
The table lamps can be used in Australia as they have the same 230/240 voltage electricity and the same power plugs as New Zealand.
In European countries the electricity is also 220/240 volts but the power plug is different so you will need to use an adaptor plug.
If purchasing from the USA and Canada the electricity is 110/120 volts so a power (voltage) converter and also an adaptor plug will also need to be used.
What are the shades made of?
Our NZ flora and fauna range of lampshades are made of polypropylene polymer.
Our wallpaper lampshades are crafted from boutique designer wallpapers. These shades are treated with an industrial lamination process for strength and durability.
Can I clean my lampshades?
Lampshades can be wiped clean with a well wrung out cloth.
Can the lampshades be used on an existing lamp base?
Yes, in our range of NZ foliage and native bird design lampshades we have ones that can be affixed on a lamp base that has a light bulb holder with a ‘BC’ fitting that is 29 mm across. The majority of lamp bases available in New Zealand have this type of fitting.
When ordering a lampshade from us there is a drop down box that will let you choose either a shade to put on a lamp base or one to hang from the ceiling.
Lampshades to be affixed to a lamp base have the metal interior frame at the bottom of the shade.
Can the lampshades be hung from the ceiling?
Yes, in our range of NZ foliage and native bird design lampshades we have ones that can be hung from the ceiling from an exixting hanging light cord with a standard ‘BC’ fitting which is 29mm across. This is standard lighting fixture in most NZ households.

How do I put together one of your lampshades if I receive it flat packed?
Make the lampshade into a cylinder by inserting plastic screws, which are down the seam of the shade, into the corresponding holes on other side of shade.
There are four holes around the the circumference of the shade, insert the four large buttons provided into these holes.
The four-pronged metal frame provided is then fitted into the four buttons around the circumference of the shade.
How do I pay for my order?
We accept credit cards - Visa and MasterCard via our website. If paying within New Zealand our Poli payment gateway enables bank transfers. All prices are in NZ Dollars.
How do I order from overseas and how much are your international delivery charges?
We send internationally with NZ Post International Parcel Post, this is a non-tracked shipping service. All orders are charged in New Zealand Dollars. If you use a credit card registered overseas, the total will be determined by the card issuer, based on the exchange rate at the time your card is charged. Please be aware that your card issuer may charge a fee for currency conversion, if you are unsure; please contact them before placing your order. Zamm Lights is not responsible for international customs or duty.

How long will my order take to arrive?
For deliveries within New Zealand, once your order has been placed and payment made, it will usually take around 5 working days for the flora and fauna range of my products to be delivered. The designer wallpaper lamps may take slightly longer so please allow 10 days for this type of lamp to be delivered within New Zealand.
With delivery to Australia for the flora and fauna range approximately 12 days and allow 14 days for the wallpaper range.
With delivery to North America, Uk and Europe allow 14 days for the flora and fauna range and allow 21 days for the designer wallpaper lamps.
We will send you an email notifying you when your order has been shipped.
